I don’t speak of what happened as triumph. It wasn’t. It was gravity changing its mind about me.

One day the pull loosened, the noise of matter fell away, and I understood that I had stepped too far beyond the edge. I didn’t escape the universe; it simply stopped insisting that I belong to it. From where I am, you can’t see the world—because there is no world.

From here, everything that used to be solid drifts like an afterimage. The people I knew are still moving through that light, circling warmth they can still feel but I can no longer touch. I sense them only as pressure changes in the silence, echoes of motion inside a memory that no longer has gravity.

I carry that awareness the way a diver carries air from the surface. Each thought is a tether to what used to exist, a reminder of form. When I remember a name or a gesture, it flickers for a moment below me, bright as a coal. Then it fades. From where I am, you can’t see the world—because there is no world, only the residue of it, folding into equations that no longer need matter to be true.

The object I brought through—the remnant of the crossing—still hums when something on the other side stirs. Its weight shifts with every sorrow left unspoken. When it grows heavy, I know someone down there has forgotten hope, and the burden passes to me until they remember again. This is what survival feels like here: carrying the gravity of others so they can keep moving.

It is not a burden. It is the cost of being the witness. The universe asked to be remembered, and I said yes.

Now I remain in the hush beyond form, listening for what still burns below. Sometimes I think I hear the world again—a faint sound, like breath through glass—but when I look for it, there’s only light, folding and unfolding without shape.

From where I am, you can’t see the world. There is no world. There is only the memory of its weight, and I am what remembers.

Breath and Silence ©️

And just when the breath slips further away, just when the air turns to glue, the world around you begins to narrow. Not metaphorically, not like a feeling—but optically, as if your vision folds inward like a collapsing cathedral. The light bends. Edges darken. The room—any room—contracts into a funnel, a tunnel, a black iris swallowing everything but the vanishing point.

It’s not fear. Not at first. It’s geometry. It’s sensation doing math behind your eyes. Your body trying to shrink-wrap itself around the little oxygen left. Your soul inching toward a breach point. There’s a strange clarity in it too—objects become exaggerated, details sharpen like they know this might be the last time they’re seen. You register everything and nothing. The tunnel doesn’t lead forward—it leads inward, like your body has turned into a maze that ends in silence.

And in that tunnel, time breaks its stride. The moments stretch, the sounds hollow out, and something pulls—not violently, not cruelly, but with that same eerie grace as a dream that’s just starting to become a nightmare. You feel the tug again, the familiar one, and it’s not a stranger. It’s more like a reminder of where you began. As if death isn’t dragging you under—it’s reminding you that you’ve been here before.

Maybe you have. Maybe every breath since birth has been one long delay of this return. And now, in this tunnel of collapsing air and narrowing vision, you glimpse the seam between body and whatever was before it. You don’t panic. You don’t weep. You recognize.

And just when it begins to feel like home, the breath returns. The tunnel lifts. The world expands like a balloon reinflated. You’re back.

But not quite.

Because once you’ve walked that tunnel, even for a second, even blind—

you never come back the same.

What if I told you that you’ve never moved an inch? That all your travels, your strolls through cities, your cross-country drives, your moonlit dances across empty highways have only ever been a theater—an illusion designed not to transport you through the world, but to unroll the world toward you? Consider this: your soul, your command center, the one unchanging axis of your existence, has remained perfectly still—eternally anchored at a centerpoint outside of time and geography. The illusion of movement is not locomotion, but manifestation. The road does not stretch behind you because you traveled it. The road exists because you needed it to, and so it emerged like film developing in reverse—from the fog of the uncreated into the clarity of now. You do not drive into a city. The city becomes because you believe you are arriving.

All sensory input, all perception of continuity, all architecture and topography—are projections ignited by presence. Not the kind of presence a GPS can track, but the divine inertia of awareness. You do not traverse reality. You command it to approach. Each new hill on the horizon, every gas station or roadside hawk or face in the crowd is a composite, conjured in real-time by a creator pretending to be a wanderer. Reality is not pre-existing, pre-rendered like a video game map. Instead, it is like a living neural dreamscape, rendered only in the precise scope of the perceiver’s attention. You create only what you can see. The rest—cities you’ve never heard of, people you’ll never meet, galaxies you’ll never fathom—are not just distant. They are unformed. They do not exist. They wait in the void of potential, unborn and unsummoned.

When you turn a corner on your neighborhood street, you are not rotating around a physical space. You are unscrolling a new layer of the dream. It is not that the houses were already there, lying dormant in their shingles and driveways. They were willed into the lattice of the world at the moment you decided to turn. You can feel this in the silence behind you. Look back: the world behind you is dead. Not abandoned, not forgotten—nonexistent. The moment you turn your back to it, it slips away like breath off a mirror. Reality moves only in the direction of your gaze. The future doesn’t lie ahead of you. It is invented at your arrival.

And the soul, still as the sun, spins nothing and yet spins all. It is the projector, not the reel. You are not the car in motion, but the eye of the storm. The universe is your robe, draped around your shoulders, sewn together as you walk. This is not solipsism. This is not narcissism. This is the sacred architecture of divine agency—the soul’s refusal to be a passenger. You are not in motion. You are the stage, building scene after scene for a story that cannot be told until it is seen. The only reality is the part of the dream you’re inside. Everything else waits at the edge of your imagination, begging to be born.
